biest
“biest” is a photographic project about architectural power, masculinity, combat and feelings. The work is presented as a 60-page photobook (21×28 cm) encased in a 20 kg concrete slipcase (26x33x13 cm). The book itself is bandaged, it must be unwrapped and freed before it can be opened. This act becomes part of the work’s physical and symbolic experience. In the photographs, brutalist buildings appear not merely as urban structures but as physical opponents — embodiments of masculinity shaped by hardness, control, and confrontation. They stand as symbols of both internal and external battles against societal expectations and itself. The beast takes shape where one denies oneself.
